Current Processing Times – Specialist Pathway Registration

Current Processing Times - Specialist Pathway Registration

People are often wondering how long one step, or the whole process will take.

Because we’re helping doctors through this process on an on-going basis, we are happy to share the times that we’re seeing.

As of August 2024, the processing times are as follow

EPIC – 5 business days

AMC – 5 business days

RACGP Part A – 8 to 10 weeks (currently having a high volume of applications)

RACGP Part B – 2 to 3 weeks

AHPRA – 3 to 4 weeks

Immigration Nomination (by practice) – 2 to 3 weeks

Immigration Visa Application (by doctor) – 2 to 3 weeks

RACGP Part C in-portal submission– 1 day

*At this point you will receive your agreement and invoice for the training program. When you have paid the invoice, and signed the contract, then you don’t need to worry further about the 12 months validity of your Part A.

RACGP PEP Approved Placements – 7 to 10 business days

Medicare Provider Number – 30 calendar days Processing times for applications

*It’s common for doctors to plan to arrive around 1 week before the expected end of the Medicare Provider Number Application Process because they can spend 1 – 2 weeks settling in with orientation, connecting with RACGP and your supervisor, meeting colleagues, learning the IT system, shadowing and getting ready.

*The only way that we can make your process any faster is by having the documents ready for the next stage, when you receive certification back from the current stage. Our friendly Doctor Connect team are ready to work with you to help confirm everything that we need is ready for the submittal of the next stage. Please do reach out to ask questions, so that we can achieve this as soon as possible.

Remember, while planning your registration journey, these processes are cascading, so that we need to wait until we receive the outcome, before we can submit the next. If we work together to have your application ready, then we’ll be able to submit sooner.

Sometimes it can be a matter of luck that things move faster or slower – sometimes there is a high number of applications, and sometimes public holidays create delays.

In the case that we have all of the documents ready, then we can go much faster.

If you are able to work with our colleagues to get the right information, and answer any queries, then this can go much faster for each step and overall.

These times are anecdotal, and our best information when updated.

If you’ve had a relevant experience that you’d like to tell us about, please do email to info@doctorconnect.health, or connect on WhatsApp

We look forward to working with you on this journey, to help you find the right job, work through the registration process, and then to welcome you when you arrive.
