Processing Times – RACGP PEP Specialist

Current Processing Times - RACGP PEP Specialist Pathway Registration

Timings are crucial for us all when planning this move. Because your practice has committed to you, we now have the important responsibility to make sure you are aren’t unnecessarily delayed.

Its vital to be aware of how long each step step, and the whole process will take.

Our goal is to work with you to have a same-day turnaround for each submittal.

As of 1st February 2025, the processing times are as follows:

  • EPIC – 5 business days
  • AMC – 5 business days
  • RACGP Part A – 6 to 10 weeks (currently having a high volume of applications)
  • RACGP Part B – 2 to 3 weeks
  • AHPRA – 3 to 4 weeks
  • Immigration Nomination (by practice) – 1 week
  • Immigration Visa Application (by doctor) – 2 to 3 weeks
  • RACGP Part C in-portal submission– 1 day (*At this point you will receive your agreement and invoice for the training program. When you have paid the $11,900 invoice, and signed the contract, then you don’t need to worry further about the 12 months validity of your Part A.)
  • RACGP PEP Approved Placements – 7 to 10 business days
  • Medicare Provider Number (MPN) – 18 calendar days Processing times for applications

*It’s common for doctors to plan to arrive around 1 week before the expected end of the Medicare Provider Number Application Process because they can spend 1 – 2 weeks settling in with orientation, connecting with RACGP and your supervisor, meeting colleagues, learning the IT system, shadowing and getting ready.

*This is a cascading workflow, so that we need to have one step complete before lodging the next. To make this as fast as possible, we will work with you to have the documents ready for the next stage, when you receive certification back from the current stage. Our friendly Doctor Connect team are ready to work with you to help confirm everything that we need is ready for the submittal of the next stage. Please do reach out to ask questions, so that we can achieve this as soon as possible.

Sometimes it can be a matter of luck that things move faster or slower – sometimes there is a high number of applications, and sometimes public holidays create delays.

In the case that we have all of the documents ready, then we can move much faster. Its always good to be thinking about what your next step should be.

If you are able to work with our colleagues to get the right information, and answer any queries, then this can go much faster for each step and overall.

Because we’re helping doctors through this process each day, we are happy to share the times that we’re seeing.

These times are anecdotal, and our best information when updated. If you’ve had a relevant experience that you’d like to tell us about, please do email to info@doctorconnect.health, or connect on WhatsApp

The registration journey is faster than it was in previous years, we are taking on the challenge to work with you to make it as quick as possible.

We look forward to working with you on this journey, to help you find the right job, work through the registration process, and then to welcome you when you arrive.
