Immigration for GPs

Visa Sponsors for General Practitioners

General Practitioner is on the Skills Shortage list

The usual route is for a General Practitioner to commence work on a Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482)

This will allow a spouse, and children to live and work, or attend school in Australia

  • Importantly, we work with a range of practices who are eligible to be visa sponsors
  • Most of these are registered to sponsor visas, and have experience in these processes
  • When you have completed fellowship, and hold specialist registration, then you will likely be eligible for permanent residency
  • Although age can be a factor in some PR applications, there are pathways available for over 45 GP’s

You can assume that if our job listing is for a DPA location, then you will be eligible to join that practice.

In the complex and changeable environment of immigration, its useful for you to engage with a visa expert.

We can connect you with a Immigration Solicitor, who are very experienced in working with immigration matters for doctors and their families.
