Supervised GP Program

The Supervised GP Program is offered by our partner People Medical Consulting, who are as passionate as we are about helping doctors find suitable opportunities in Australian General Practice.

For OTDs who have international General Practice experience, this is a great way to start out in medical practice in Australia, getting you started on your pathway for up to two years, and setting you up for a Pathway to Fellowship.

The minimum requirements for candidates are:

• Meet recency of practice (12 weeks in the last 3 years, or 4 weeks in the last 12 months), AND
• If AMC MCQ only, either an RACGP Time assessment of 3 years OR 6 FTE years of GP experience in a clinic in home country, OR
• If AMC MCQ & Clinical, 1 year of GP within the last 3 years required.

The service provided includes assistance navigating registration pathways with AHPRA, RACGP / ACRRM /IME, PESCI, and Immigration.

This scheme relies on the location holding a DPA exemption, as well as a practice having a fellowed doctor who is able to supervise. In some instances, this may be in MM1 locations.

There is a cost involved because this isn’t a traditional recruitment service, it’s a registration service that includes assistance with applications for AHPRA and PESCI.

*In the Mandurah region, for GPs who sign a contract before June 2023, these costs are able to be paid by the practice.

There are currently practices in Mandurah Region that have funding to cover your costs of this program.
