Registration First Steps

While we work on matching you with the right job, now is a great time to get your process started.

You don’t need to have a job offer yet.

Step 1. You must first apply to ECFMG-EPIC for primary source verification of your medical qualifications.

Objective:           Verify Medical Credentials and receive EPIC number for the Australian Medical Council (AMC)

Go to:                  Special Instructions for Physicians Applying to Practice in Australia

Timeframe:        4-6 weeks from submission

1. Create an EPIC account
2. Complete EPIC ID Form (IEF) online
3. Download completed form to certify or use ‘NotaryCam’ to certify online
4. Upload credentials to build portfolio (Requires primary medical degree, Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), Internship and Postgraduate Specialist Medical Qualification)
5. Nominate the AMC to have access to your credentials on the portfolio Most important
6. Make payment
7. Use ‘My Reports’ tab to select qualifications to be verified

Required before you start:

• Full colour passport photo
• Scanned copy of biodata page of passport
• Medical Education – medical school ID number (if applicable), attendance, degree issue dates
• Medical Licensure information (if applicable) including any ID numbers
• EICS / ECFMG number (if applicable)

Step2:          Australian Medical Council

The next step is to create an AMC Portfolio. The AMC will then request your ECFMG results on your behalf and list it in your portfolio. CLICK HERE

Objective:           Primary source verification of medical credentials

Timeframe:        4-6 weeks

Required before you start:

• Full colour passport photo
• Scanned copy of biodata page of passport
• Digital document of your signature
• EPIC number
• Qualifications (names and dates) from Specialist Colleges

Step 3: Comparability Assessment

You will then need to apply directly to either ACRRM Specialist Pathway or RACGP PEP Specialist Pathway .
